We do ship our grass plugs to Florida. We believe in plugs because we have found that it has been extremely difficult to create a fine Zoysia grass lawn from seed. Seeds are also not as resilient in winter months - in fact, winter hardy Zoysia grass seed to does not yet exist. Our plugs are particularly hardy, and can grow in a wide range of conditions. They require less watering than most grasses and can create a long lasting, sturdy lawn. Our plugs would be perfect for you because they can be installed methodically (see our blog post about installment here: http://blog.zoysiafarms.com/planting-zoysia-grass-plugs/) and are pretty low maintenance after the initial planting session. If you receive frosts in Jacksonville, you might undergo a dormant period with zoysia, meaning that the grass will go into a dormant stage and turn a light brown color. When it warms up, your lawn will return to its lush green color.

I live in Jacksonville beach Fl and am not sure which zoysia to put down. There are only a few nursery's here that sell zoysia and all of it is Empire. I will be putting this down myself, female, little, single, so what is the easiest way for me to do this? My front yard is huge, probably 800 sq ft so it's going to be tons of work. Which grass do I get too? We do get freezes here in J-ville but only about 4 a year at the beach.
Thanks
