Hi Jack,
There could be a few reasons why the plugs are brown at this time of the year. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 410-756-2311 so we can determine what is going on with your plugs.

Ted - Zoysia is pretty shade tolerant, but will need at least partial sunlight during the day. How long does the oak tree shade any specific part of the grass?

Peter - We're sorry that you've been having trouble getting the Zoysia to establish. It sounds like an underlying problem since Zoysia grows for about 6 months before dying, instead of dying of right away. Please call Lynn at 410-756-2311 or give us your contact information so we can further assist you.

Dean - Once established, Zoysia will take over other wild and cultivated grasses. How long it will take is difficult to detail because there are so many variables. How well is the St Augustine established, how close together are the plugs going to be planted, what type of soil, how sunny a locations and on and on. However, it will take over the St. Augustine eventually.

Someone just informed me that the zoysia should be cut with a rotor mower, that cutting with a circular mower burns the grass?

True or false

I have tried your grass four different times. It starts off and grows but then dies out after about six months.
