Hi James,
You can plant Amazoy zoysia grass plugs in your area from early April to early September, as long as the ground is workable, not frozen and the plugs are planted at least 45 days before the first hard fall frost. We have not resumed our grass shipments to PA for 2013, we do expect to start shipping within the next few weeks, field and weather conditions permitting.
Thank you,

I have part of my back yard that nothing seems to work... I decided to try Zoysia grass in the last third of my lawn. I live in Eastern Penna. When is a good time of year to plant?

Hi Joe,
Zoysia works well on sports fields, it is durable and can handle heavy traffic once it is completely established. The other great thing about zoysia is that it will repair itself if any of the grass gets damaged.

Hi George,
Droughts are hard on grass, however zoysia is a very drought resistant grass. It requires about 80% less watering than most grasses. When the plugs are first planted they will need to be watered everyday, about 10 to 15 minutes, for the first three weeks. After that only if you are having drought type conditions.

We experienced a drought last summer and totally expect one again this summer. How much do new planted plugs require watering?
